How to Prepare Current Affairs in GK-India

इसे हिंदी में पढ़ें →

The largest part of the GK-India section (38 questions, 76 marks) — national and international current affairs, sports, political developments — is actually based on daily-changing news, so it cannot be "confined" to any one static note. This page explains how to prepare this part and how to balance it with the rest of this section's stable topics.

A Stable Foundation + Daily Updates — Both Are Needed

In Patwari's official syllabus, the GK-India section is divided into seven sub-parts — national and international current affairs, government schemes and policies, sports events, political developments, economic news and environmental issues, awards and honours and science news, and important national events and history. Some of these (history, constitutional basics, the founding of institutions) stay stable — the rest of the notes in this series are built around exactly these.

The remaining part — daily national/international news, the latest sports results, new scheme announcements — changes every month, so "freezing" it into a fixed note page is the wrong approach; outdated data would lead to wrong answers in the exam. For this, RajStudy has a separate Current Affairs section that is updated daily.

The Right Approach

Check the Current Affairs section at least 3-4 times a week, and be sure to read the Monthly Compilation starting 2-3 months before the exam — this lets you revise a whole year's events together. Learn the stable topics (history, the Constitution, institutions, award rules) thoroughly once, since these can repeat every year and don't change over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I score the highest in GK-India?+

Nail the stable topics (history, the Constitution, institutions, award rules) once and for all, and keep revisiting current affairs every week — both need a different strategy.

How many months of current affairs should be covered before the exam?+

Generally, revising the important events of the last 6-12 months is enough — monthly and weekly compilations make this quick.
